G7 Simulator Training

Our Bedford location now features the new RealSimGear G7 Cirrus simulator—a realistic replica of the SR Perspective Touch+ Garmin flight deck, complete with a fully functional CAPS handle.

Built specifically for the Cirrus aircraft, this simulator brings the G7 platforms in the SR20, SR22, and SR22T to life with impressive accuracy.

But what truly sets this experience apart is what it allows you to do.

Train for scenarios you simply can’t safely recreate in the air. Slow down high-pressure moments. Pause, reset, and repeat until you build real confidence and mastery. Whether you’re working toward instrument proficiency, sharpening decision-making, or preparing for the unexpected, this is training at a completely different level.

With recent software and hardware upgrades, the platform is more powerful than ever—and ready for you to take advantage of.

If you’re serious about becoming a safer, more capable pilot, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss. Consistent simulator training should be a vital part of your annual training and proficiency plan.

Keep reading to see how Cirrus Approach integrates with the simulator to deliver a structured, scenario-based training experience designed to elevate your flying.

Cirrus Approach Simulation Series

The Cirrus Approach team has gone above and beyond with a new approach to simulator training  that’s designed to make Cirrus pilots more proficient than ever! [Excerpt below courtesy of Cirrus Aircraft’s Mission Ready Course]

Mission Ready 2026:

Simulator Sessions is a year-long, scenario-driven simulator training program by Cirrus Approach.

Rather than focusing solely on instrument proficiency, Mission Ready 2026 explores a broader approach to simulator training. Each session blends real-world operational decision-making, aircraft systems understanding, risk management, and practical use of Cirrus features and capabilities, all within thoughtfully constructed scenarios.

A Different Kind of Simulator Experience

Each session is built as a mission, not a checklist exercise.

Pilots are presented with scenarios that introduce new constraints, evolving conditions, and purposeful challenges that reward good planning and sound judgment. Sessions are intentionally varied, and outcomes are often influenced by the decisions made along the way.

Scenarios may include:

  • Flight-planning challenges with competing priorities

  • Weather, terrain, or airspace limitations

  • System irregularities and abnormal situations

  • Multi-leg or time-sensitive missions

  • Required decisions such as diversions, go-arounds, or alternate strategies

In many sessions, pilots are given choices in how the mission is completed. This introduces an element of strategy and autonomy, encouraging experimentation, reflection, and engagement rather than rote execution.

Designed for Real Flying and Sustained Engagement

Mission Ready is designed for pilots who want to stay sharp without relying on repetitive or predictable simulator routines. Sessions are immersive, challenging, and intentionally engaging, creating space for pilots to think, adapt, and apply skills in ways that mirror real-world flying.

The result is a simulator experience that supports proficiency, sharpens decision-making, and remains enjoyable over time. Mission Ready: Simulator Sessions offers an opportunity to explore a more dynamic approach to training, one that evolves with the pilot and keeps the experience fresh throughout the year.

As we say at MGAV, a good pilot is always learning. Never have we had the opportunity to execute this strategy than with Cirrus’ new Mission Ready simulator series.

Over the next few months we will reach out to MGAV clients to design a tailored approach to your Mission Ready goals for 2026.

Call or email us to schedule your session today: (508) 591-0889, ext. 2. / [email protected].

Let’s ask CFII Andrew Barr: DUCKFAT in Portland

Where are we flying to eat today, Andrew?

This week on our restaurant tour with Andrew Barr, we’re talking about Duckfat in Portland (fly to Portland KPWM). Tucked just off the waterfront, this cozy restaurant has built a national reputation for doing simple things exceptionally well.

Duckfat has earned a loyal following for its Belgian-style fries cooked – as the name suggests – in duck fat. Andrew plans some of his flights around this restaurant to make sure he can bring his students here. In the summer, Andrew says there is even a decommissioned ship that you can eat your food on. This experience really makes Portland come alive.

It’s a manageable flight, great airspace practice, and again, a reminder of why we fly in the first place. Visiting cool restaurants like this to indulge in humanity’s greatest pleasures…amazing food.

We just wanted to put this on your radar in case you needed an excuse to fly! To rent an aircraft we made it easy for you. Just click below!

Adam & Pat Soft Landing Flight Lesson

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the video on the soft field landing practice with Adam & Pat, the link is below!  This lesson focused on the correct technique to approach soft-field landings. This landing was simulating landing on a snow covered runway at Plymouth. This was an excellent opportunity to document the real-world conditions that demand precision and discipline. Pat does an awesome job keeping the nose wheel up and knowing exactly when to feed in the right rudder to keep the airplane tracking straight.

And if you haven’t gotten a feel for Adam’s teaching approach yet, this is a great window into it. His calm demeanor and depth of knowledge are a steady presence in the cockpit. Great Job Adam! You’re a true reflection of the quality of pilots and instructors we’re proud to have here at Mike Goulian Aviation.

Meet Kevin Emmett: CSR

Meet Kevin Emmett our Customer Service Representative (CSR) from Salem MA. Kevin’s aviation journey started when he was a kid. Growing up, he always knew he wanted to be a pilot, inspired by his grandfathers who flew in World War II. He had an unforgettable childhood with his grandfather going on trips to see the Blue Angels. We are so happy to have his passion here at MGAV.

Kevin attended Bishop Fenwick High School before earning his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Bridgewater State University. He later headed to Florida to flight instruct, where he continued his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, earning a master’s degree in Aeronautics with a minor in Aviation Safety.

What Kevin loves most about aviation? No two days are ever the same. Every flight is a chance to learn something new, and that constant growth is what keeps him passionate about flying.

At Mike Goulian Aviation, his favorite part is watching clients achieve their aviation goals—from first solos to major milestones. Being part of that journey is what makes the job so rewarding.

When he’s not in the cockpit, or helping our clients with their aircraft,  you’ll likely find Kevin out on the golf course enjoying time with friends.

His best advice?
“Always fly two mistakes high.”
