New G7 Cirrus SR22 @KBED - N59PB
Mike Goulian Aviation continues to grow our fleet of brand new G7 Cirrus SRs. This month we welcome this beautiful new G7 SR22, N59PB, into the KBED fleet. It is available immediately for your next flying adventure. Have you completed your G7 checkout and your SR22 transition? If so, congratulations, you can fly this airplane now!
MGAV pilots who have completed the G7 check-out have praised the new safety features and the ease of navigation with the new touchscreens. Stepping up to the SR22 will get you to your destination faster and give you more cruising altitude options compared to the SR20. If you’re thinking about upgrading your training or rental experience into a new SR22, we have strong availability at both KBED and KPYM. Please call (774-283-1825) or email Ben Acker to schedule your SR22 G7 rental today!
02 / G7 Turbo Ground School @KPYM: Nov. 12th
In November, we will be welcoming a new Cirrus G7 SR22 Turbo to the MGAV fleet, based in PYM. It will be the first G7 Turbo available for rental and we welcome you to learn all about the advantages of operating a turbo-charged powerplant.
There are a few nuances to operating the turbo – and combined with the new features of the G7 avionics – this is a very potent cross-country machine, easily capable of cruising above 12,000 feet. We have consulted with our friends at Cirrus Approach to bring you a ground school program to help you get the most out of the G7 SR22 Turbo. We will go into greater depth than the standard engine management course, teaching operation must-do’s, tips and even cover some maintenance basics to deliver a learning experience that is beyond what you will find in the book.
With this specific aircraft being based at PYM, we will be offering the ground school program on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:30pm at our Plymouth hangar. We have very limited seating for this program (5-10 attendees), so please let us know if you’re interested in learning more.
Price: $100/person

03 / Pro-Tip of the Month: Taxiing Tips
Are your brakes being replaced every hundred hours? Do your passengers hurry to put on their neck pillows to avoid whiplash while you taxi the airplane?
Many pilots transitioning to a Cirrus after being trained on a legacy training aircraft (e.g. Piper Warrior, Cessna 172) struggle a bit with the free castering nosewheel. Some folks take to it like a fish to water, but some struggle. To twist an idiom, you might say that sometimes we try to lead that horse to water, but it just won’t fish.
When that pilot (horse) becomes a Cirrus owner, they wonder why their brake pads are being replaced at every inspection and what that “thunk thunk” noise is when they taxi.
Taxiing well and safely is a valuable skill in a Cirrus. Every pilot has their Cirrus taxiing style. Read this humorous take on the different taxi styles to see if you can identify yours, and pick up some important maintenance-saving tips by MGAV TCI, COPA member, Cirrus SR owner and Cirrus Vision Jet type rating holder, Lex Crosett.
