November 2021: Holiday News, Free Cirrus Course & More
SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER WITH MGAV!
Give the gift of flight this holiday season!
With the holidays quickly approaching, we’re happy to introduce gift cards at MGAV! Whether it’s for your aspiring private pilot, transitioning pilot or soon-to-be IFR pilot, we’ve got you covered. Our gift cards are currently available for purchase online here! Along with gift cards, all three of our locations are stocked with gear to take your #CirrusLife to the next level. Stop by KPYM, KBED or KLCI to check out some of our awesome merchandise!
Holiday Schedule: We plan to be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If you are planning a trip around that time, please feel free to book a multi-day rental that starts before the holiday and ends afterwards. We won’t be able to support any flights on those days to give our team a chance to enjoy the holiday with family. Any questions? Just give us a call!
Complimentary Must-See Cirrus Online Courses
Not only are the holidays right around the corner, but so are colder temperatures — now is a great time to review Cirrus’ Icing Awareness course! We encourage you to be aware of icing, know how it affects the Cirrus and have a thorough understanding of the anti-ice system installed on the Cirrus. This is just one of Cirrus’ great learning videos, whether you are new to flying IFR in the winter or a need a refresher.
Cirrus is offering the SR Series Takeoffs and Landings course complimentary until the end of 2021! The course contains 10 lessons, with over 5 hours of content. Find in the “Recurrent Training” section of the course catalogue. Create a profile here if you are not yet in the Cirrus training portal system.
In-Focus: Meet our newest CFI @ KBED, Mike Thomas
We’d like to welcome Mike Thomas to the MGAV family as a new CFI at our Bedford location!
Fascinated by the wonder of flight from a very early age, Mike’s love of airplanes and flying endures. After spending over a decade in the IP legal field in various Boston firms, a few brief moments behind the controls of an old Piper Aztec during a trip to the Caribbean cemented his aspirations of becoming a professional pilot.
Years later, Mike’s continued passion to learn, train and experience flight in all its forms has found him behind the controls of a Supermarine Spitfire in England, practicing aerobatics in a Super Decathlon, and peering from the bombardier’s seat of a B-17 Flying Fortress. Flight Instruction has given Mike the opportunity to pass along that love and enthusiasm for aviation to his students. We can’t wait to see what Mike has in store for his students!
