Aerobatic Training

The purpose of aerobatic training here at Mike Goulian Aviation is to help pilots improve their fundamental understanding of aerodynamics and improve their aircraft control.

Course Progression:

We recommend you take each program in order, but we can customize your flight training to match your needs and previous experience.

1. Aerobatics I

Taught over the course of one week, the Mike Goulian Aviation Aerobatics I course will introduce you to basic aerobatic flying with the goal of improving your hand-flying skills. You’ll learn the fundamentals of aerobatic flying by learning aircraft energy management. Concepts will be introduced on the ground and taught in our American Champion Decathlon. By the end of the week, you’ll be able to fly the IAC Primary Sequence – your first exciting step into aerobatic flying!

2. Aerobatics II

Aerobatics II is the perfect next step for the aerobatic pilot looking to build on the fundamentals developed during Aerobatics I. Over the course of the week together, our skilled instructors will go deeper into craft of aerobatic flying, culminating in the teaching of the more rigorous IAC Sportsman Sequence.

We’ll help you build your aerobatic routines and provide ground coaching to prepare you for your first solo competitions. We know what it takes to win at the highest level of this sport and we can’t wait to show you!

Annie Story

While living in San Diego, Annie’s older brother introduced her to skydiving and the world of general aviation. The thrill and joy of playing in the sky quickly became a staple in her life. Annie was fortunate to get the opportunity to do basic aerobatics early in her instructing career. She quickly realized that she wanted to teach pilots aerobatics to expand their abilities and to share the fun of flipping airplanes upside down.

Stephen Fiegel

Stephen Fiegel has been flying for over seventeen years, specializing in aerobatic, warbird and tailwheel instruction for over a decade. He's amassed a wide variety of aviation experience, to include flying gliders, helicopters, towing banners, warbird instruction, and aerobatic competition. Stephen draws on his diverse range of flight experience to help clients achieve their goals.
