The purpose of aerobatic training here at Mike Goulian Aviation is to help pilots improve their fundamental understanding of aerodynamics and improve their aircraft control.
We recommend you take each program in order, but we can customize your flight training to match your needs and previous experience.
The Mike Goulian Aviation Aerobatics I course will introduce the student to basic aerobatic flying with the goal improve a pilot’s hand flying skills. In the course, they will learn aircraft energy and position management, the fundamentals of aerobatic flying. By the end of the course, the student should be able to complete the IAC Primary Sequence. This course is typically taught over four consecutive days.
The Mike Goulian Aviation Aerobatics II course will build on the fundamentals developed in Aerobatics I, going deeper into the craft of aerobatic flying. Students will learn the skills required to complete the more rigorous IAC Sportsman Sequence. This course is typically taught over five consecutive days.
Our custom program designed to help pilots to regain their fundamental stick and rudder skills and understanding of aerodynamics and aircraft control. This course is designed to increase pilot confidence and proficiency. This course is typically taught over three consecutive days.

Flying since he was 17 years old, Ryan was the captain of the MSU Denver Aerobatic Flight Team in college, leading the MSU Aerobatics to win two collegiate team national championships and was the collegiate individual national champion in 2022. After college, Ryan worked as a flight instructor where he specialized in UPRT, tailwheel training, and mountain flying. Ryan enjoys teaching aerobatics, helping pilots become better and safer pilots.
While living in San Diego, Annie's older brother introduced her to skydiving. The thrill and joy of playing in the sky quickly became a staple in her life. More than just the joy of free fall, Annie fell in love with teaching through the example of her incredible instructors. She is thrilled to be able to continue to share her love for flying with others.
A professional aerobatic pilot with more than 9,000 hours of flying, our founder - Michael Goulian - is a CFI, DPE, former Red Bull Air Race winner and is one of the most experienced civilian professional pilots in the United States. Using his years of experience flying competitive aerobatics, he designed the program we teach today.
