In-Focus: Flying Friendly at KBED for Students & Renters
The Touch and Go Fly Friendly Program was created with the goal to reduce touch-and-go traffic over the Hartwell Tavern Area of Minute Man National Historical Park (MMNHP). This program promotes pilot awareness of where to and where not to fly in the standard traffic patterns for Runway 11-29 and also 5-23 at Hanscom Field (KBED).
The star on these photos represent the location of the Hartwell Tavern Area. We strongly advise to avoid flying directly over it. Flying the traffic patterns shown below will guarantee clearance from this area.
Complying with the Touch and Go Fly Friendly Program is important because we can reduce the interruptions to MMNHP Outdoor Programs such as the Living History Presentations from April through October of every year, and encourage pilots’ voluntary participation.
